Five more free spins come whenever three or more golden masks land on one free spin. Eight of the 50 purchases grew this way, seven to 15 spins and one to 20 after two awards; two others ran 20 spins from the start because five masks had landed on the bought spin, which is the opening award, not an extension. Among natural bonuses 5 of 23 went from 10 to 15 spins.

Thirty free spins follow a FUN 200 purchase at a FUN 2.00 bet whose six Scatters already pay FUN 200.00; on spin 6 coins of x20 and x6 multiply FUN 2.90 into FUN 75.40, an x8 makes FUN 24.00 of FUN 3.00 on spin 14, x15 with x3 turns FUN 1.50 into FUN 27.00 on spin 24, and TOTAL WIN stops at FUN 358.70, 179x Bet · Recorded in a separate browser session, outside the statistical samples.

How it plays

11 rules screens from the game

Thirty symbols make up each screen of Aztec Magic Bonanza, five to a reel across six reels, and a symbol pays as soon as 8 or more copies of it are showing in any positions; its rate rises at 10 copies and again at 12. At the top sits the chieftain in a feathered headdress, 10x the bet for 8-9 and 50x for 12 or more, ahead of the woman with a feather in her hair at 2.5x to 25x, the serpent mask at 2x to 15x and the jade emblem at 1.5x to 12x. The five carved card ranks, from A down to 10, run from 1x down to 0.25x for the smallest group and from 10x down to 2x for the largest. Each paying group is cleared, symbols above it slide down to fill the holes and replacements drop from the top, which repeats until a screen pays nothing.

The golden mask is the Scatter. A base spin with four masks pays 3x the bet for them and opens 10 free spins; five are worth 5x and 20 spins, six 100x and 30 spins, in each case on top of the symbol wins of that spin. During the bonus the masks stop paying; there they only extend the round, by five spins whenever three or more land together.

Multiplier coins belong to free spins alone, and each carries a value between x2 and x100 drawn when it lands. The coins of a free spin are counted once its tumbling sequence is over: their values are added up and the whole win of the sequence is multiplied by that total. A free spin that forms no win leaves its coins with nothing to multiply.

Three RTP figures come with this build: 96.11% for regular spins, 96.52% for free spins bought at 100x the bet and 96.19% with CHANCE x2, which raises every stake to 1.25x and is unavailable while a purchase is active. At the FUN 2.00 bet of the test a purchase costs FUN 200, and the next spin lands the four or more Scatters that open the free spins, their Scatter pay included. The maximum win is 10,200x the bet, and the game data rates the chance of reaching it at one in 2,490,000,000.

Verdict

Four x100 spins, half the money

Round 5921 paid FUN 1,798, 899x the stake, and FUN 1,760 of it came from free spin 13 of 15, where coins of x10 and x100 multiplied FUN 16.00 of tumble wins by 110. That one spin equalled 35.97% of what the 23 natural bonus rounds paid with their trigger spins, and 9.39% of everything the 10,000 ordinary rounds returned. The round's other 14 free spins brought FUN 28.50 between them.

Purchased 50 times at FUN 200, the bonus recovered FUN 7,616.80, 76.17% of the FUN 10,000 spent, and the median ticket came to FUN 79.05, 0.395x its price. An x100 coin turned up on ten bought free spins and paid on five of them, for 17.98% of the money those free spins made. Ticket 21, the best at 5.4875x, never saw one: an x50 over FUN 8.30 and coins of x5, x10 and x10 over FUN 26.90 gave it FUN 1,087.50 of its FUN 1,097.50.

In natural bonuses an x100 coin appeared on eight of 265 free spins. The four of those spins with a tumble win to multiply, in rounds 2395, 5921 and twice in 3263, paid FUN 2,442.80, 52.91% of what free spins earned across all 23 natural bonuses. The other four, in rounds 621, 5161, 8906 and 9120, formed no win, so their x100 coins added nothing.

Measured upsides
  • Under x10 and x6 coins, FUN 27.60 of tumble wins became FUN 441.60 on one free spin in round 7239, which paid 234.5x the stake
  • 38.72% of the 10,000 ordinary rounds paid something, one in every 2.58 on average
  • Ticket 21 returned 5.4875x its FUN 200 price, one of 3 purchases that paid twice the cost or better
  • Coins added FUN 4,325.30 to FUN 291.40 of unmultiplied tumble wins in natural free spins
Measured downsides
  • A coin landed with no win to multiply on 87 of the 150 natural free spins that held one
  • Leaving out round 5921, the remaining 9,999 rounds returned 84.73% of their stake
  • Ticket 49, the weakest purchase, returned FUN 7.80, 0.039x its price
  • The ordinary series went 1,423 rounds without a trigger between rounds 3263 and 4687

FAQ

6 questions · answered from the log
In Aztec Magic Bonanza free spins, how often did an x100 coin show up and what did it pay?
Lab answer

Eight of the 265 natural free spins held one, and 10 of the 565 bought ones, never more than one per spin. A coin multiplies only a winning tumbling sequence, so half of them paid nothing; the four natural x100 spins that did win brought FUN 2,442.80, and the five bought ones FUN 1,314.40.

What does 93.71% over 10,000 Aztec Magic Bonanza demo spins say about its 96.11% RTP?
Lab answer

Very little on its own. At a FUN 2.00 stake the series' approximate 95% CI runs from 73.75% to 113.68% and comfortably contains 96.11%; the interval only says how loosely this sample pins down its own mean. A single free spin of round 5921 paid FUN 1,760 of the FUN 18,742.30 the ordinary rounds returned.

Spinning without the buy, when did Aztec Magic Bonanza free spins tend to turn up?
Lab answer

Four golden-mask Scatters are needed, and 23 natural triggers in 10,000 rounds work out at 434.8 rounds per bonus on average. They were far from evenly spaced: the triggers of rounds 7239, 7331 and 7384 came close together, while rounds 3263 and 4687 had 1,423 rounds between them with no bonus.

For FUN 200, what does an Aztec Magic Bonanza bonus buy usually give back?
Lab answer

Less than the price on 38 of 50 tickets, with a median of FUN 79.05, 0.395x. The average was 0.762x because a few tickets ran far ahead, ticket 21 with FUN 1,097.50 and ticket 23 with FUN 686.20, and the 50 together returned FUN 7,616.80 of FUN 10,000.

Can Aztec Magic Bonanza free spins begin with 30 spins?
Lab answer

Yes, six Scatters start 30 free spins and pay 100x the bet by themselves. None of the 73 triggers logged in the test had six: 70 had four and 3 had five. The bonus video comes from a separate session in which a FUN 200 purchase did land six, worth FUN 200.00 before its 30 free spins.

Do more Scatters during Aztec Magic Bonanza free spins add to the round?
Lab answer

Yes. Each free spin showing at least three golden masks lengthens the round by five: 5 of the 23 natural bonuses grew from 10 to 15 spins that way, round 5921 among them, and 8 of the 50 purchases were extended, one of them twice, to 20.
