Slots with the Best RTP

A ranking of slots by the return we actually measured: every logged round of each game on the official demo server, sorted by what came back, with the declared RTP alongside for comparison. New tests join the list the moment they are published.

How this ranking is built

measured first, declared next to it

Slotester Lab RTP meter with the needle past 90 next to a printout of declared and measured returns — Declared on one column, measured on the other: the ranking sorts by the second.

Most "best RTP slots" lists copy the figure printed in a game's help screen. This one is sorted by what the game actually returned when we played it: every slot below went through the same run on its provider's official demo server, a full session of rounds at one bet, every server response logged. The measured return is total win divided by total bet over every logged run of the game, and it is shown next to the declared RTP so you can see the gap in both directions.

The list re-sorts itself whenever a new test is published, and you can switch the order to declared RTP, hit rate, max win or bonus value with the buttons above the table; the same runs also feed a separate ranking of slots with the best bonuses, sorted by what the logged purchases of each feature returned. Nothing in the ranking is edited by hand: a game that measured poorly stays where its numbers put it.

01Same run for every game. The same run length, one stake, the default settings, the official demo build; retested games show all their runs pooled.
02Measured return with its interval. The 95% band tells you how much of the number is signal and how much is sample size.
03Declared figure logged, not assumed. The RTP profile the server reports for the tested build is recorded with the run.
04Sorted by the measurement. Highest measured return first; ties and near-ties are exactly that, not a verdict.

Declared RTP and measured RTP are different things

why the two columns rarely match

The declared RTP is a long-run average built into the game's math: over millions of rounds the game is designed to pay that share of everything staked back. A measured RTP is what the logged rounds of a test actually returned. On a low-volatility game the two sit close; on a high-volatility game a single 500x round moves the measured figure by several points, and its absence moves it the other way.

That is why every number in the table carries a 95% interval. The widest interval in the lab spans 183.5 points, which is the honest size of what one run can tell you about a game that pays in rare bursts. The declared figure sitting inside that band is the expected result, not a surprise; a measured value far outside it is what would deserve a second run.

Across the lab so far

163 tests average a measured 95.9% against a declared average of 96.38%. In 153 of 163 runs the declared figure sits inside our interval. 90 runs came in below the declared value, the rest above.

What a high RTP does and does not buy you

reading the number like the lab does

house edge at the lab average 4.1 bets per 100 what the average measured return costs over a long run
hit rate range in the lab 9% – 43% RTP says nothing about how often you see a win
longest dry run seen 114 spins a 96% game can still go this long without a win

RTP is a long-run figure. A 96.5% game does not hand back 96.5 of every 100 you stake in an evening. It loses more than that in most sessions and wins in a few, and the average only appears over a volume no single player reaches.
Volatility decides the session, RTP decides the trend. Two games with the same return can feel completely different: one pays small and often, the other pays rarely and large. The hit rate, dry runs and drawdown columns in the table are the part of the picture RTP leaves out, and if the rare-and-large kind is what you are after, the slots with the highest maximum winnings ranking sorts the same tests by their biggest single round.
One point of RTP is real money over time. At the same stake and pace, a game returning 96% costs roughly half as much per hour as one returning 92%. That is the reason to prefer the top of this table, and the reason to check which RTP version a casino actually runs.

RTP versions: the number on the help screen can change per casino

why we log the profile, not the brochure

Many modern slots ship in several return versions. The studio builds one math model and lets operators choose a profile: the headline figure, and one or two lower ones a couple of points apart. The game looks identical in every version; only the paytable weights differ. A review that quotes the headline RTP tells you nothing about the copy running at your casino.

Our rig records the profile the demo server reports for the build it tested, and the declared column in the table is that value, not a press release. Before playing for money, open the game's information screen at the casino and compare its RTP with the declared figure here: if the casino's copy is lower, everything in this ranking applies to a better version than the one in front of you. The declared profile of every game we have run is listed in the full catalog of tested slots on the home page.

Questions about RTP rankings

5 questions

What does "best RTP" mean on this page?

Lab answer

The highest measured return in our own logged runs on the official demo server. The declared RTP is shown next to it for comparison, and you can re-sort by it, but the default order is what the games actually returned to the rig.

Why is a game with a lower declared RTP ranked above one with a higher declared RTP?

Lab answer

Because in the runs we logged it paid back more. One run is one sample: a volatile game can beat a steadier one over one run and lose to it over the next. The 95% intervals on each review show how much room there is for that.

Is a measured RTP above the declared value a sign the game is loose?

Lab answer

No. It is a sign the run caught a large round or two. The declared figure is the long-run design target; measured values scatter around it, above as often as below across enough games. The list is a record of what happened, not a promise of what will.

How often does this ranking change?

Lab answer

Every time a new test is published the table re-sorts automatically. Existing positions only move when a game is re-run, and re-runs are noted in the review's test history.

Can I verify the measured RTP myself?

Lab answer

Yes. Every review links to its spin log with a SHA-256 checksum. Dividing the sum of wins by the sum of bets in that file reproduces the figure in this table; the how-we-test page shows the exact commands.
