Bigger Bass Splash

Bigger Bass Splash review on the free demo: 10,000 logged spins returned 98.52% of stake, a 48-spin natural bonus on round 5505 paid 1,171x, and the 100x feature purchase came back at 1.07x over fifty tries.

Lab verdict

Everything sits in the free spins. The base game returned 30% of stake and went 43 spins without paying at its worst; the 76 bonus rounds returned the other 68 points, four of them above 500x. Buying the feature for 100x broke even on average and lost money in 40 of 50 attempts.

How it plays

8 rules screens from the game

A 5x3 board with ten fixed paylines, evaluated from reel one outward. The boat is the premium: 200x the bet for five and the only picture that pays for two. Fish are the money symbols and carry a value from 2x to 5,000x the bet at every spin, but outside the feature they are just another 3, 4 or 5-of-a-kind symbol; the printed value matters once the fisherman is on screen, and he appears on the reels during free spins only.

The bass scatter lands on any reel. Three start 10 free spins, four give 15, five give 20. Two scatters without a third can trigger a respin: reels holding scatters shift down one row, the others spin again, or a hook pulls a reel up to reveal another scatter. The log recorded 226 such respins in ten thousand spins, and they cost nothing.

Inside the feature every fisherman collects the value of every fish on the screen. Each fourth fisherman collected adds 10 spins and raises the collection multiplier, to 2x at the second level, 3x at the third and 10x at the fourth, after which the round cannot extend further. Before the round starts, up to five modifiers may be drawn: more fish, more fishermen, more hooks, dynamite and wipeouts, a start at level two, or two extra spins on the round and every retrigger. Dynamite drops fish onto a fisherman-only screen, a hook pulls a fisherman onto a fish-only screen, a wipeout clears everything except the fishermen.

Two purchases sit on the left panel: 100x the bet for the standard feature and 350x for a super version; the lab bought only the standard one. An ante bet at 1.5x the stake raises the scatter frequency; the rules quote 96.5% for every mode and cap a round at 5,000x.

Verdict

who it suits, who should skip it

Split the run into the base game and the feature and the design is plain. Base spins alone returned 30.03% of stake, 84.4% of them paid nothing, and 43 separate stretches of twenty or more blank spins appeared, the longest 43 spins from round 955 to 997. The feature returned 68.5 points on top, so this is a game you play for the trigger and nothing else.

When the trigger came it came often: 76 rounds, one per 132 spins, no gap longer than 612 spins (rounds 764 to 1376). Half of them paid under 37.4x, but eleven paid over 100x and four crossed 500x: 1,171.1x on round 5505, 1,003.4x on 4091, 689.6x on 2865 and 526.8x on 7937. The 5505 round ran 48 spins, collected fish seventeen times and took 2,326 from a 2.00 stake; it lifted the balance to its peak of 1,240 bets up, and the run still finished 148 bets under the start because the base game ate the rest.

All three test stakes went early: 50 bets by spin 186, 100 bets by spin 237, 200 bets by spin 671. The trough was 1,147 bets down on spin 2684, before the big rounds arrived. Anyone playing Bigger Bass Splash at 200 bets is playing for a bonus that, on this sample, is more likely to pay 37x than 500x.

The purchase route shows the same skew. Fifty buys at 200.00 returned 1.07x on average, a profit on paper, but the median was 0.42x and 40 of 50 lost money. One buy, number 46, ran 48 spins and returned 21.5x; without it the fifty would have returned 0.65x. Bought rounds retriggered 20 times out of 50 and collected 5,047 bets' worth of fish in total.

Measured upsides
  • Bonuses every 132 spins with a real top end: eleven rounds over 100x, four over 500x.
  • Retriggers are common: 20 of 50 purchased rounds and 35 of 76 natural ones ran past 10 spins.
  • Measured 98.52% sits above the 96.5% declared, even with a base game this thin.
Measured downsides
  • Base spins returned 30% of stake and went blank 84.4% of the time, with 43 stretches of 20 or more empty rounds.
  • The median bonus was 37.4x, and the median purchase returned 0.42x of its 100x price.
  • None of the three test bankrolls reached spin 700.
  • The whole result rests on four rounds; without them the run would have returned about 65%.
What the AI noticed during the run
  • Four natural bonuses above 500x in one run: 1,171.1x on round 5505, 1,003.4x on 4091, 689.6x on 2865, 526.8x on 7937; together they returned 3,391 bets, 34% of the whole payout.
  • Base play by itself gave back 30.03% of stake; 8,444 of 10,000 spins paid zero and the largest base hit was 50x (rounds 1154, 2522, 6867).
  • Ten blank stretches of 30 spins or more; the worst was 43 spins, rounds 955 to 997, and another 42 from 1383 to 1424.
  • Free spins came 76 times, every 132 spins on average, with gaps between 3 spins and 612 spins; 41 rounds stayed at 10 spins, 3 ran the full 48.
  • Fishermen collected fish 232 times in natural bonuses for 6,299 bets, plus 167 collects in purchased rounds for 5,047 bets.
  • Balance peak 1,240 bets up on spin 5505, low 1,147 bets down on spin 2684, close 148 bets under the start.

FAQ

7 questions · answered from the log
Is Bigger Bass Splash better than the original Big Bass Bonanza?
Lab answer

Different math, not simply better. This run measured 98.52% against 96.5% declared with free spins every 132 spins; the lab's Big Bass Bonanza test has its own page and its own numbers. What Splash adds is the scatter respin, the pre-round modifiers and a 5,000x fish value, and this sample shows a far heavier top end: four rounds above 500x.

98.52% against a declared 96.5%: where did the extra come from?
Lab answer

Four rounds. The 1,171x, 1,003x, 690x and 527x bonuses returned 3,391 bets between them, 34% of everything paid. Remove them and the same 10,000 spins return about 65%. The 95% interval, 62.3 to 134.8%, is that wide for exactly this reason.

Trigger frequency: average and worst case in this run?
Lab answer

76 triggers in 10,000 spins, one every 132. The shortest gap was 3 spins and the longest 612, from round 764 to round 1376. At 1x per spin that worst case costs sixteen times the median bonus.

What does a fisherman actually do in free spins?
Lab answer

He collects the printed value of every fish on the screen, and every fourth fisherman adds 10 spins and raises the collection multiplier. Round 5505 shows the ceiling: 17 collects worth 2,326 in a 2.00 game, 48 spins, 1,171x.

Buying the feature for 100x: profit or not?
Lab answer

On average it returned 1.07x, but 40 of 50 buys lost money and the median was 0.42x. The average is carried by one 21.5x round; the other 49 returned 0.65x of their price together.

Scatter respin: what triggers it, and is a stake taken?
Lab answer

Two scatters without a third can shift the scatter reels down and respin the rest, or a hook can pull a reel up to reveal a third. It is free: 226 respins in this run were logged with no stake taken. 46 of them ended in a win.

Bankroll: what did 50, 100 and 200 bets survive?
Lab answer

More than 200 bets, on this evidence. The 200-bet stake ran out on spin 671, the 100-bet stake on spin 237, the 50-bet stake on spin 186, and the deepest fall before the big rounds was 1,147 bets on spin 2684.
