Stakes multiplied by this interval measure gross wagering, not the net cost of obtaining a bonus. Purchase returns above include the complete purchased round and are divided by the ticket price.

How it plays
12 rules screens from the game
Gemhalla deals six reels of five symbols, and a symbol pays whenever at least 8 copies of it are anywhere on the screen, with bigger prices from 10 copies and again from 12. Winning symbols vanish and the gaps refill, so one spin can pay several times before it stops. With FUN 2.00 staked, the horned helmet pays 20.00, 50.00 and 100.00 FUN across those steps, the ale tankard up to 50.00, the war horn up to 30.00 and the battle axe up to 24.00, while the five runes run from 20.00 FUN for 12 purple ones down to 4.00 for 12 red.
Shields are the multiplier symbols, and their colour sets the range: wooden x2 to x5, green x6 to x30, violet x31 to x100 and striped x101 to x500. They can drop on ordinary spins and inside the bonus alike. On an ordinary spin the values of all shields present are summed and multiply everything that spin won, provided something paid; with no win under it a shield is worth nothing.
Viking ship Scatters start the free spins from four upward and pay on their own as well: four bring 3x the bet, five bring 5x, six or more 100x. Every logged trigger, 72 natural and 50 bought, opened with 15 spins, and three Scatters on one free spin add 5 more. Inside the feature the shields of a winning spin join a running total, and each later win is multiplied by that total plus whatever shields it brings, so the counter only climbs.
BGaming gives one RTP, 97.17%, to ordinary spins, the 100x Buy Bonus and CHANCE x2, plus a 5000x maximum win and very high volatility. The Buy Bonus cost FUN 200 during the test, which was played at FUN 2.00, and CHANCE x2, which raises the stake to 1.25x, stayed off; the bet menu starts at FUN 0.20 and tops out at FUN 50.00.

Verdict
Shields paid in the base game
Round 9003 paid FUN 1,500, 750x the stake, and it was a base spin rather than a bonus: its only win, eight battle axes for FUN 3.00, was multiplied by 500 by the only striped shield of the 10,000 base spins. That single round is 7.08% of what the series paid and 2.85 times the best natural bonus round, round 2058 at 263.35x. Without it, the remaining 9,999 rounds came to 98.42% of their stake.
Seventy-two natural bonuses came, once per 138.9 rounds, and returned a mean of 46.34x the stake per round, trigger spin included, with a median of 22.225x. Their running total ended at x13.76 on average and never above x59, and shields supplied 84.32% of the free spins money, FUN 5,014.40 of FUN 5,946.90. Bought at FUN 200, fifty bonuses returned 76.47% of the price, the median ticket standing at FUN 82.05, and only ticket 44, FUN 1,332.90 at a final x39, passed twice the price.
A shield showed on 1,549 of the 10,000 base spins, about one in 6.5, yet only 418 of those spins had a win for it to multiply. Those 418 still added FUN 6,186.80 to the series, 29.21% of what ordinary play paid out, close to the 31.5% that came from the 72 bonus rounds counted whole. Spins whose biggest shield was wooden numbered 308 and paid FUN 2,353.90 in all, while the 106 topped by a green shield paid FUN 2,762.80.
- Base round 5230 summed a violet x100 and a wooden x3 shield into x103 on a FUN 4.00 win and paid FUN 412.00, 206x the stake
- Base spins topped by a green shield, 106 of them, paid FUN 2,762.80 together
- Seventy-two natural bonuses arrived in 10,000 rounds, one per 138.9
- Wins landed on 30.85% of rounds, and 197 of them reached 10x or more
- 1,131 base spins wasted their shield because nothing else on the screen paid
- Purchase 13 paid FUN 12.90 on its FUN 200 price, and fifty purchases together brought back FUN 7,647.20 for FUN 10,000
- In 8 natural bonuses no shield ever met a winning free spin, and those rounds averaged 8.981x the stake
- Violet shields of x31 to x100 headed a winning base spin only 3 times

FAQ
7 questions · answered from the log
Does Gemhalla have multipliers in the base game or only in free spins?
Both. Shields worth x2 to x500 dropped on 1,549 of 10,000 ordinary FUN 2.00 spins, and on the 418 that also had a win their values were added and applied to the spin's total; the rest lost them. Round 4122 shows the adding: x12, x4 and x2 shields made x18 on a FUN 8.30 win, which paid FUN 149.40.
Does 105.91% on the demo mean Gemhalla pays more than its 97.17%?
No. The demo figure has an approximate 95% CI between 85.97% and 125.84%, wide enough to hold 97.17%, since 10,000 FUN 2.00 rounds are still a small sample for a game where one spin can move the total this much: round 9003 alone made 7.08% of what those 10,000 rounds paid. The 97.17% is BGaming's figure for the game's model, which a sample of this size can neither confirm nor rule out.
Typically how long does Gemhalla take to start its free spins unaided?
Triggers came once per 138.9 rounds on average, 72 of them in 10,000 ordinary spins. At FUN 2.00 a bet, the stakes placed between triggers average FUN 277.78; that is gross wagering, with the wins along the way not netted out. Across the 10,000 rounds the longest wait was 764 rounds without a trigger, between rounds 243 and 1008.
Does the Gemhalla free spins multiplier reset after each spin?
No. The counter only grows, and only on spins that win: shields arriving with a winning spin join the total, shields on a blank spin are dropped. Natural bonuses finished with it at x13.76 on average, median x9.0 and highest x59, while 8 of the 72 never got off zero.
Out of 50 Gemhalla bonus buys at FUN 200, how many paid their price back?
Thirteen. Bought at 100x the FUN 2.00 bet, the fifty returned FUN 7,647.20 for FUN 10,000, or 76.47%; ticket 44 was best at FUN 1,332.90, 6.66 times its price, and the median sat at FUN 82.05. BGaming gives the bought feature the same 97.17% RTP as ordinary play.
Gemhalla caps wins at 5000x; did the test get anywhere near that?
Only nine rounds of the 10,000 reached 100x or more, and the highest, base round 9003, stopped at 750x, while the best bonus round, 2058, came to 263.35x. BGaming's game data gives the 5000x outcome a frequency of 1 in 3,008,718, far beyond a sample of this size.
Can Gemhalla free spins go beyond 15?
Yes. Each free spin with three Scatters or more adds five, and natural bonuses grew past 15 in 22 of 72 cases, 15 of them to 20 spins and 7 to 25. Purchases did so in 26 of 50, ticket 27 reaching 30 spins and ticket 31 reaching 35.
