The Dog House Dog Or Alive
Nineteen free spins added just USD 0.20 in one Dog or Alive bonus; our demo review follows the sticky badges behind the payouts, with 64 natural features recorded at a USD 2 stake.
Follow the badge positions as well as the countdown. Wilds need a paying line to make their multipliers count, even after the feature earns extra spins.

Is The Dog House Dog Or Alive worth playing?
quick answerDog or Alive builds its free spins around persistent sheriff badges, with extra spins and doubled wild values at three collection milestones. Ordinary play returned 99.28% of the stakes in our test, while the separate purchase sample returned 94.35%. Neither figure describes a typical short session: 83.90% of ordinary rounds paid nothing, and 35 purchases failed to cover their price.

One buy costs the same as 100 base spins. Natural bonuses arrived once per 156 spins in this run and paid an average of 73.5x the bet; bought bonuses averaged 94x the bet. These are different entry costs, not a prediction of which route will pay more.

How it plays
6 rules screens from the gameNine spinning barrels decide the opening free-spin award. Each cell on this three-by-three display reveals one, two or three spins, and their sum becomes the starting total. The animation runs automatically; there is no barrel to choose. Entry comes from a safe on each of reels one, three and five, with the three safes also paying five times the total stake.
Sheriff badges are the wilds on the three middle reels. A new badge carries 2x or 3x and substitutes for ordinary symbols in a paying line; when several badges help that line, their values are added. Badges landing during free spins stay at their positions for the rest of the feature. A wild on the paid triggering spin is still an ordinary-game wild, and does not carry into the bonus.
Collecting the third, sixth or ninth sticky badge adds three spins and doubles every wild value currently on the board. Those milestones can extend the feature three times, while newly arriving badges still reveal their own initial values. The bonus uses special reels without safe symbols, so another scatter combination cannot restart it. Our journal reached the first milestone in 19 of 50 purchased features, with none reaching the second.
Outside the barrel display, the playing field has five reels and three rows, with twenty paylines. A line needs at least three matching symbols connected from the leftmost reel; only its highest award is paid, then awards on different lines are combined. The four dogs head the paytable, followed by the collar, bone and card ranks. This is a line game, with no cascading replacements after a win.
Rules page three specifies high volatility and a stake range of USD 0.20 to USD 240. Our USD 2 setting priced direct access to free spins at USD 200, or one hundred stakes. The configured RTP is 96.52% for ordinary play and 96.54% for purchased entry. A complete round cannot pay beyond 10,000x its ordinary stake; reaching that limit ends the round and cancels anything still unplayed.

Verdict
who it suits, who should skip itThe longest opening award among our natural bonuses was nineteen spins, on round 7649. No sticky badge appeared, and those spins added USD 0.20 to the USD 10 scatter payment. The strongest natural feature began with eleven, gained three more and finished at USD 1,174 including its trigger. Those two rounds show why the barrel count alone says little about the payment that follows.
Purchased entries exposed the same dependence on the reel positions. Their median return was USD 105.80 against a USD 200 price, and three purchases returned exactly USD 10: the safes paid, but their free spins added nothing. Fifteen purchases covered the cost, with number 49 leading at USD 1,246.60 after twelve starting spins and one three-spin extension. Across the fifty purchases, the remaining shortfall was USD 565.20.
There is plenty of waiting between the useful badge combinations. Only 1,610 ordinary rounds paid anything, and 686 of those failed to cover the USD 2 cost. The longest completely blank stretch lasted 43 rounds, while the biggest peak-to-trough balance fall measured 905.8 stakes. Anyone exploring the demo should expect the line-by-line activity to be sparse even in a sample that finishes near its starting balance.
Ordinary play ended USD 143.80 down after staking USD 20,000, for a measured 99.28% return. Its 95% interval was much wider, from 77.35% to 121.21%, so the gap above the 96.52% profile provides no evidence of a lasting advantage. Dog or Alive is easiest to follow by watching where each badge stays and whether a paying line can use it; a long countdown by itself offers little reassurance.
- The barrel award and later three-spin extensions can be separated in the saved bonus history
- Persistent badges make it possible to follow the same line positions through a feature
- The demo exposes both RTP settings and the complete twenty-line paytable in English
- Thirteen free spins on round 5381 added nothing to the scatter payment
- Median purchase return: USD 105.80 against a USD 200 entry price
- More than eight in ten ordinary rounds ended without a payment
- All 114 logged features stayed below six sticky badges. Forty-eight reached three badges and gained one extension; no feature earned a second extension.
- The USD 225 win on ordinary round 3774 was the largest payment outside natural free-spin rounds, at 112.5x the stake.
- Between triggers on rounds 88 and 759, the 670 intervening spins produced no new bonus. The first 200-stake budget simulation had already failed on round 552.
- Seven blank stretches lasted at least thirty rounds; the longest ran from 7859 through 7901 without a single payout.

FAQ
7 questions · answered from the logAm I supposed to pick one of the nine barrels?
No selection is needed. The three-by-three display spins automatically, then adds the one-, two- or three-spin values in all nine cells. That allows an opening award from nine to twenty-seven spins before any badge milestone adds more.
Why did my free-spin total suddenly increase by three?
Count the sticky sheriff badges. Reaching three, six or nine adds three spins and doubles the values of wilds already present. We verified 48 such increases across the 114 features in the ordinary and purchased samples; every one was the first milestone.
Can a safe symbol retrigger this version of The Dog House?
The free-spin reels have no safes. Extensions come from collecting badges instead, which is why a longer opening barrel award must not be counted as a retrigger. The purchased sample contained 19 features with added spins.
Do a 2x badge and a 3x badge make a 6x line?
They give that line 5x when both participate in its winning combination. Badge values add for the payout. A later collection milestone doubles the values on the board, which is a separate operation.
How could the bonus pay USD 10 with no winning free spins?
At the tested USD 2 stake, the three safes themselves pay USD 10. Purchases 7, 12 and 28 returned exactly that amount, with zero added by the free spins. The purchase ledger includes the trigger payment, whereas the feature breakdown separates it.
Will a wild from the trigger stay in the bonus?
Sticky behaviour starts with badges landing on the free-spin reels. The ordinary wild on trigger round 2440 disappeared before the first free spin; the saved responses show the distinction. A badge that subsequently lands during the feature stays for its remaining spins.
Was the best purchased bonus also the longest?
Purchase 49 paid the most, USD 1,246.60, over fifteen free spins including its extension. The sample's longest purchased feature lasted twenty-three spins. Extra turns give the board more chances to connect, but the final amount still depends on the symbols and badge positions.
