How it plays
7 rules screens from the gameCurse of the Werewolf Megaways spins six reels of up to six symbols each, giving a different count of ways on every spin, at most 46,656; symbols pay when they line up on neighbouring reels starting with the leftmost. At USD 2.00 the werewolf pays USD 1 for two and USD 20 for six, the four villagers pay USD 3 to USD 10 for six, and the A to 10 cards USD 1 to USD 2. The torn-paper Wild lands on reels 2 to 6 only and stands in for everything except BONUS, the Mystery symbol and the golden werewolf.
Mystery symbols, a wolf howling at the moon, appear in the base game only, at any size on any reel, and all of them turn into the same paying symbol before wins are counted. At random a Super Spin stacks high-value symbols on the reels, and a Guaranteed Win spin promises a big win on several ways.
BONUS symbols open the free spins on special reels, 8 spins for three of them, 10 for four, 12 for five and 15 for six, and two or more landing during the round add 2, 3, 4, 5 or 10. Free spins bring in the golden Attacking Werewolf, which also counts as the ordinary werewolf: each one that lands takes one to five lives from a villager. A villager that loses all five is replaced by the werewolf on the reel strips until the round ends, with one more free spin awarded, so a round that turns all four leaves the werewolf as the only high-paying character.
The information pages call the game low volatility, give a theoretical RTP of 96.5% and allow bets from USD 0.10 to USD 100. Free spins can also be bought from the base game for 100x the total bet, USD 200 at the USD 2.00 used throughout this test, and each purchase lands three to six BONUS symbols at random.

Verdict
One life short, 75 timesEvery natural bonus of the series turned at least two villagers into werewolves, and rounds that turned more paid more on average. Nine stopped at two and averaged 73.94x the stake, sixteen stopped at three and averaged 103.76x, and only rounds 3241, 4515 and 9994 turned all four, for an average of 509.53x. Those three paid USD 3,057.20, 39.66% of the natural bonus money.
In all three the fourth villager turned on spin 10 of 12, so just six free spins in the whole series were played with no villager left on the reels, and they paid USD 2,667.20, 34.65% of all natural free spins money. In round 4515 the trigger and first ten spins brought USD 22, then spin 11 found the werewolf on 96 six-reel ways for USD 1,920, 960x the stake. The other 25 natural bonuses never got that far; the best of them, round 6117, paid USD 981.40, 490.7x the stake, with three villagers turned.
Guaranteed Win spins came 174 times, 1.74% of the rounds, and every one paid, from 5x to 180x the stake. Their USD 3,829.80 made up 18.14% of all ordinary-series payouts, and the 383 rounds where Mystery symbols transformed, 70 of them Guaranteed Win spins, paid 19.36%.
Purchases never reached the fourth villager: of the 50 tickets at USD 200, 23 turned three, 23 turned two and four turned one, and together they returned 79.08% of the price with USD 65.50 at the median. Ticket 14, the best at USD 1,334.20, turned only two.
- Three natural bonuses turned all four villagers and averaged 509.53x the stake
- All 174 Guaranteed Win spins paid, the smallest 5x the stake
- USD 1,920, 960x the bet, came from a single free spin of round 4515
- The fourth villager never turned in any of the 50 bought rounds
- Before the first villager turned, 85 natural free spins paid USD 84 in all
- Leaving out rounds that started free spins, Super Spins returned 44.10% of their stake, plain spins 49.64%

FAQ
6 questions · answered from the logWhich villager turns into a werewolf first in Curse of the Werewolf Megaways free spins, and what does it take?
Each golden Attacking Werewolf that lands takes one to five lives from a villager, and the fifth lost life swaps that villager for the werewolf on the reel strips and adds one free spin. In the test they always went in the same order, the man in the green cap first, then the moustached man, the woman and the man in the brown hat, and in 26 of the 28 natural bonuses the first villager turned on free spin 3.
Does the next villager ever escape with more than one life left?
No. All 75 free spins rounds that stopped before the fourth villager turned, 25 natural and 50 bought, ended with the next villager missing four of its five lives, as the woman does at the end of the recorded purchase.
Do bought free spins in Curse of the Werewolf Megaways turn all four villagers?
No. Three was the most any of the 50 purchases at USD 200 turned. Tickets that turned three came back with USD 217.36 on average, those that turned two with USD 122.55, and the four that turned one with USD 22.45, while 38 of the 50 returned less than their price.
Curse of the Werewolf Megaways lists 96.5% RTP; how could its demo pay back 105.57%?
One bonus moved the average. Round 4515 paid USD 2,126.80, 1,063.4x the USD 2.00 stake, and the series minus that round stood at 94.95% over 9,999 rounds. Sampling error is wide at this length: an approximate 95% CI for 10,000 rounds stretches from 79.14% to 132.01%, and the declared 96.5% lies within it.
Left to trigger naturally, how long do Curse of the Werewolf Megaways free spins take?
Three BONUS symbols are enough, and in 10,000 paid rounds they came together 28 times, always as exactly three for 8 free spins. That averages one natural bonus per 357.1 rounds, about USD 714 of turnover at USD 2.00 a spin, though after round 541 the series went 1,653 rounds before the next one.
How much did Guaranteed Win spins pay in Curse of the Werewolf Megaways?
At least 5x the bet each time in this test. All 174 Guaranteed Win spins among the 10,000 rounds paid, with a median of 8x, a mean of 11.005x and a top of 180x on round 8770, the largest win of the series without free spins. Between them they supplied 28.57% of the money paid by rounds that had no natural bonus.
