Book of Dead plays on five reels and three rows with ten fixed lines; winning lines are read from the left reel, and a line pays only its best combination. Card symbols need three in a row, the four Egyptian figures and Rich Wilde pay from two. At five of a kind Rich Wilde returns 500 times the bet, the Pharaoh 200, Horus and Anubis 75, Aces and Kings 15, and Tens, Jacks and Queens 10. The Book is both Wild and Scatter: it substitutes on lines and pays 2, 20 or 200 times the total bet for three, four or five anywhere on the reels.
A draw of one expanding symbol precedes the ten free spins that three or more Books award. During free spins that symbol spreads over its whole reel whenever enough copies land to pay, and it pays across gaps, so a Pharaoh on reels 1 and 2 plus a third on reel 5 still pays as three.
