Sugar Rush lives on its multiplier spots: two base-game tumbles above 300x carried the first half of the run, and the buys finished a hair over even thanks to three rounds past 5x.

How it plays

7 rules screens from the game

Sugar Rush has no paylines. Seven candies fall onto a 7×7 grid and a win is any block of five or more identical symbols touching horizontally or vertically. The lollipop is the top symbol: five of them pay 1x the bet, fifteen or more pay 150x. At the bottom sit three gummy bears, where five pay 0.2x and a full block of fifteen pays 20x. Winning symbols explode and the rest of the column drops down, so one spin keeps tumbling until nothing new connects.

The multiplier spots are the whole game. Every explosion marks its cell; the second explosion on the same cell puts a x2 multiplier there, and each further hit doubles it up to x128. A cluster that covers several marked cells adds those multipliers together. In the base game the marks are wiped once the tumbling stops, which is why the big base rounds are short and violent: the two largest of the run, 371x on round 5142 and 334x on round 1382, each needed only five tumbles.

Three or more candy-jar scatters start the free spins: 10 spins for three, 12 for four, 15, 20 and 30 for five, six and seven. Inside the bonus the marked cells and their multipliers stay on the grid for the whole round and keep growing, and a fresh set of scatters adds the same number of spins again. Of the 28 natural triggers in our log, 24 ran exactly ten spins, two ran twelve (rounds 989 and 8652) and two reached twenty (rounds 993 and 3891).

The buy button costs 100x the bet and can land anywhere from three to seven scatters. The win cap is 5,000x in both modes, and the server reports the same 96.5% RTP for regular play and for purchases. No ante option exists in this build.

Verdict

who it suits, who should skip it

The base game carries more of the load here than in most Pragmatic tumblers. Four rounds above 100x arrived without a single scatter, spins paid something 34% of the time, and the longest run of empty screens was 16 spins (rounds 5689 to 5704). The balance peaked at 101,835 on round 2177, was still above 100,200 near spin 5,700 and only then slid, finishing at 98,161, 920 bets down, with its lowest point at spin 9886. Fixed bankrolls did not enjoy the early strength: 50 bets were gone by spin 411, 100 by spin 480, 200 by spin 656.

Steadier money came from the free spins. Twenty-eight triggers, one per 357 spins, averaged 79x; eleven of them passed 100x, eight stayed under 20x, and the extremes were 3x on round 2951 and 235x on round 3891, a twenty-spin round. Rounds 980, 989 and 993 triggered within fourteen spins of each other and paid 172x, 155x and 130x. Bonus wins made up about a quarter of everything the game returned.

Buying is a coin flip with a long tail. Fifty purchases at 200 each came back with 10,576, or 1.06x of their price, but 31 of them lost money and the median return was 0.39x. The profit sat in three rounds: 10.55x on buy 6, 7.44x on buy 13 and 5.04x on buy 49. Buy 28 paid 0.021x. Retriggers came in 22% of the purchases, stretching the average bought round to 11.9 spins and the longest to 30.

Measured upsides
  • Four scatter-free rounds cleared 100x, the biggest 371x
  • Wins on 34% of spins and no dead run longer than 16
  • Eleven of 28 natural bonuses paid over 100x
  • The purchases finished above cost at 1.06x over 50 buys
Measured downsides
  • 90.80% logged return, nearly six points under the declared 96.5%
  • Median bonus buy returned 0.39x and 31 of 50 lost money
  • Eight of 28 natural bonuses paid under 20x, the worst 3x
  • Every tested bankroll was gone before spin 660
What the AI noticed during the run
  • Three natural bonuses inside fourteen spins: rounds 980, 989 and 993 paid 172x, 155x and 130x. The next trigger took 91 spins to arrive.
  • The two largest rounds of the run came from the base game in five tumbles each: 371x on round 5142 and 334x on round 1382.
  • No dead stretch reached 20 spins; the longest, from round 5689 to 5704, was 16.
  • Buy 6 stretched to 30 spins on retriggers and paid 10.55x, while the median purchase returned 0.39x of its price.
  • The balance peaked at 101,835 on round 2177, 917 bets up, and finished at 98,161; the deepest point, 948 bets down, came at spin 9886.

FAQ

9 questions · answered from the log
How do wins work when there are no paylines?
Lab answer

Five or more of the same candy connected side by side or top to bottom form a cluster, anywhere on the 7×7 grid. Diagonals do not count. The cluster explodes, symbols above drop down, and any new cluster pays again in the same spin.

What are the multiplier spots worth in the base game?
Lab answer

A lot, but rarely. The marks reset after every spin, so a base round has to keep tumbling over the same cells to build x2, x4, x8 and beyond. In 10,000 spins that happened four times above 100x: 371x on round 5142, 334x on round 1382, 156x on round 716 and 114x on round 8399, all in five tumbles or fewer.

How often did the bonus trigger naturally?
Lab answer

Twenty-eight times, one trigger per 357 spins on average. The spacing was uneven: rounds 980, 989 and 993 all triggered within fourteen spins, while other stretches went hundreds of spins without one.

Ten, twelve or thirty spins: what decides the count?
Lab answer

Ten for three scatters, twelve for four, then 15, 20 and 30 for five, six and seven. In our 28 natural triggers the count was ten in 24 cases, twelve twice and twenty twice, and retriggers inside the feature add the same amounts again.

Does the 100x buy pay for itself?
Lab answer

Over fifty buys it returned 1.06x of the price, which sounds fine until you see the shape: a median of 0.39x, 31 losing rounds, and three rounds (10.55x, 7.44x and 5.04x) providing the whole margin. A different set of fifty could easily come in below 0.8x.

Which bonus was the worst?
Lab answer

The natural round 2951 ran its ten spins for 3x the bet, and buy 28 returned 0.021x on a 200 stake. Both happened the same way: the multiplier spots never stacked on cells where clusters landed.

Shouldn't the RTP be closer to 96.5%?
Lab answer

It may well be. A sample of ten thousand rounds in a game this swingy leaves a wide band: the 95% interval is 74.7 to 106.9%, and the declared 96.5% sits comfortably inside it. Two base rounds over 300x alone moved the figure by seven points, so the next 10,000 spins could land on either side.

Do the multipliers reset during the bonus?
Lab answer

No. That is the difference from the base game: a marked cell keeps its x2, x4 or higher value for every remaining free spin and can still double, so long rounds snowball. The 235x round 3891 ran twenty spins; the 3x round 2951 ran ten and never stacked a cell.

Would a small bankroll have survived?
Lab answer

Not here: 50 bets were gone by spin 411, 100 bets by spin 480 and 200 bets by spin 656, even though the balance as a whole was up more than 900 bets at round 2177. The early profit came in bursts that a small stake did not survive.
