How it plays
11 rules screens from the gameChaos Crew spins five reels of five rows under a graffiti wall and pays on 15 paylines read from the left. Five low symbols, the pink badge, the pink skull, the smiley, the blue X and the lightning claw, pay 0.15x, 0.3x and 1x the bet for three, four and five on a line; the moth, the brain and the skull in a cap pay 1x, 2x and 5x; the octopus pays 2x, 7x and 12x. Five dead symbols, the ones stamped NO!, FALSE, DEAD, NU and NOPE!, never pay.
The Cranky Cat is the Wild and carries a mystery multiplier of x2, x3 or x5 that applies to any line it completes; two Cats on one line multiply each other. It replaces every symbol except the FREE SPIN! sign, and three of those signs switch the game into free spins.
Lives, not a fixed count, govern the free spins. The round starts with three spins and the counter goes back to three every time a winning symbol lands, so it only ends after three empty spins in a row. A number sits above each reel: a Sketchy Skull adds +1, +2, +5, +10 or +20 to the number of its reel, a Cranky Cat multiplies that number by x2, x3, x5, x10 or x20, and the Epic versions of both do the same to all five numbers at once. When the spins run out, the five numbers are added together and multiplied by the bet.
Hacksaw rates ordinary play at 96.30%, the bought free spins at 95.92% for a price of 129x the bet, and caps a round at 10,000x; the bet selector covers EUR 0.20 through EUR 100.00.

Verdict
Counters above the reelsThe fourteenth spin of round 8953 paid EUR 1,896.00, 948x the EUR 2.00 stake, and when its lives ran out the five counters above the reels added up to 1,106, with one reel alone standing at 805, for EUR 2,212.00 from a single natural bonus. Set that round aside and the remaining 9,999 returned 75.91% of their stakes, while the other 35 bonuses averaged 63.69x the stake in free spins money with a median of 30x.
Those 36 bonuses were respin rounds on a three-life counter: 397 bonus spins in all, during which a new symbol refilled the lives 152 times, on 38% of the spins, so the rounds ran eleven spins on average and the longest, round 2991, reached twenty. Only 164 of the 397 spins paid anything themselves; the money sits in the counters, which closed at 92.6 on average and at 432 in round 8072, 225 in round 5862, 207 in round 4558 and 182 in round 4886.
Ordinary play was thin: 7,631 of the 10,000 rounds paid nothing, 23.69% paid something, and the best round without a bonus, 8500, paid EUR 252.00, 126x, followed by 6480 at EUR 171.60. The FREE SPIN! signs lined up once per 278 rounds, the longest wait running 833 rounds from round 3724 to round 4558, and free spins money amounted to EUR 6,670.00, 38.35% of everything the series paid.
Fifty bought rounds at EUR 258.00 returned EUR 12,534.00, 97.16% of their price, the closest to break-even of the two modes: the median ticket paid EUR 113.00, 34 tickets stayed below the price and sixteen covered it, ticket 26 ran 25 spins for EUR 1,928.00 and ticket 16 ended at EUR 10.00. Bought rounds lasted 13.0 spins on average, between three and twenty-six.
- Round 8953 pushed its reel counters to a total of 1,106 and paid EUR 2,212.00 on a EUR 2.00 stake, one reel contributing 805.
- Purchase 26 ran 25 spins and returned EUR 1,928.00, 7.47 times its EUR 258.00 price.
- The 36 natural bonuses averaged 92.64x the stake in free spins money, arriving once per 278 rounds.
- New symbols refilled the three lives 152 times across 397 bonus spins, keeping a bonus going for eleven spins on average and twenty at most.
- Blank rounds made up 7,631 of the 10,000 ordinary rounds.
- Half the natural bonuses, 18 of 36, closed at 31.5x the stake or less in free spins money.
- A EUR 258.00 purchase, ticket 16, came back with EUR 10.00.
- Three bonuses, with no refill at all, were over after their opening three spins.

FAQ
6 questions · answered from the logA Chaos Crew bonus has no fixed spin count, so how long did the demo's rounds run?
It starts with three spins and every winning symbol sets the counter back to three, so the round ends only after three empty spins in a row. In the demo the 36 natural bonuses took 397 spins between them, the lives were refilled 152 times, rounds averaged eleven spins and the longest, in round 2991, ran twenty; three rounds stopped after their opening three spins.
Is 1,106x on a EUR 2.00 bet really possible from Chaos Crew free spins?
Yes. Round 8953 did it: its fourteenth spin alone paid EUR 1,896.00, the five counters finished at 1,106 in total with one reel at 805, and the round paid EUR 2,212.00. The ceiling in the rules is 10,000x the bet, and the next best natural bonus of the test, round 8072, closed at 432.
Does paying 129x for Chaos Crew free spins make sense?
No. Fifty bought rounds at EUR 258.00 brought back EUR 12,534.00, 97.16% of their price, with a median ticket of EUR 113.00, 34 tickets short of the price and sixteen covering it. Ticket 26 paid EUR 1,928.00 over 25 spins; the other 49 tickets came to 0.8389x their price on their own.
The rules list 96.30%: why did the demo come in at 86.97%?
Because 7,631 of the 10,000 rounds paid nothing and the bonuses, 36 of them, carried 38.35% of all payouts between them. The series came back at 86.97% over 10,000 rounds staked at EUR 2.00, and an approximate 95% CI of 61.56% to 112.37% says how uncertain this sample's average is, not what another session will do.
Cranky Cat or Sketchy Skull, which one moves the reel numbers?
A Sketchy Skull adds +1 to +20 to the number of its reel, a Cranky Cat multiplies it by x2 to x20, and the Epic versions do the same to all five numbers at once; the sum of the five numbers times the bet is the bonus payout. In the demo the counters closed at 92.6 on average, at 432 in round 8072 and at 1,106 in round 8953.
Across 10,000 demo rounds, how regularly did the three FREE SPIN! signs land?
Thirty-six times, once per 278 rounds, or 3.6 bHz in the lab's count of natural bonuses per thousand rounds. The longest wait ran 833 rounds, from round 3724 to round 4558, and the second longest 777 rounds, from round 5935 to round 6713.
