Lab verdict

Every bonus in this test was played as Sticky Wilds, seven spins with the dog houses nailed to the reels, and that choice paid: 28 natural rounds returned a median of 49x, fifty bought rounds came back at 1.23x. The base game is a slow leak between them.

How it plays

7 rules screens from the game

Six reels, each showing between two and seven symbols on every spin, so the number of ways changes from round to round and tops out at 117,649. A win is the same symbol on adjacent reels from the left, any position, any reel height; the Rottweiler is the top symbol at 7.5x for six in a row and the ten the lowest at 0.5x. Nothing cascades: a base-game spin is one evaluation and one payout, which is why the 540x round 7407 in this log has a single step.

Wild dog houses land on reels two to five only and carry a random 2x or 3x. Two wilds in the same combination multiply each other rather than add, so a three-wild line can reach 27x on its own. The paw scatter appears on every reel; three or more anywhere open the feature, and before it starts the game asks you to pick one of two modes.

Sticky Wilds gives 7, 12, 15 or 20 spins for three to six scatters. Every wild that lands stays where it is until the round ends, takes a 1x, 2x or 3x multiplier, and stretches with the reel when the reel grows. Raining Wilds gives 15, 18, 25 or 30 spins instead, with up to six fresh wilds dropped onto the screen on each spin and nothing sticking. Neither mode retriggers. The lab picked Sticky Wilds every time, in the 28 natural rounds and in all fifty purchases, so every bonus figure on this page describes that mode; Raining Wilds was not measured.

A bought feature costs 100x the bet and lands three to six scatters at random, so a bought round can be 7, 12, 15 or 20 spins; three of our fifty came with four scatters and twelve spins. The rules screen declares 96.55% and calls the game medium volatility. Stakes run from 0.20 to 240, and the intro screen promises wins over 12,000x the bet.

Verdict

who it suits, who should skip it

Base play lost money at a steady pace: 192 bets down after 500 spins, 559 after 2,000, and a low of 810 bets down at spin 3189. What pulled it back was a burst of bonuses. Ten of the 28 natural triggers fell between rounds 3190 and 4692, inside 1,500 spins, and the two biggest of the whole run, 278x on round 3847 and 501.8x on round 3999, sat in that stretch; by round 3999 the balance was back at its starting line. The rest of the run repeated the pattern in miniature: a slow slide to 339 bets down, a single 540x spin on round 7407, a peak of 269 bets up at round 7635, and a finish 459 bets down at 99,081.50.

Between bonuses the reels are quiet. Seventy-seven percent of spins paid nothing, nine dead runs hit the 20-spin mark and the longest was 26 (rounds 6460 to 6485). The fixed bankrolls went early: 50 bets lasted 89 spins, 100 bets lasted 143, 200 bets lasted 522. On the other side of that ledger sit 156 spins above 10x and 35 above 50x, six of them base-game single spins above 100x: 540x, 168x, 144x, 141.2x, 108x and 104.4x.

Sticky Wilds rounds were the dependable part. The 28 natural triggers averaged 74.2x with a median of 48.6x, five cleared 100x, six stayed under 20x and the worst, round 9163, paid 3.05x. Twenty-six ran the basic seven spins; rounds 4119 and 4262 opened with four scatters and ran twelve. The spacing was the problem, not the size: 1,166 spins passed between the triggers on rounds 2024 and 3190.

Buying at 200 a time cost 10,000 and returned 12,274. That is 1.227x, but 32 of the fifty purchases lost money and the median was 0.70x; the profit came from four rounds, 16.0x on buy 21 (a four-scatter, twelve-spin round), 5.2x on buy 14, 4.0x on buy 23 and 2.3x on buy 28. Take away buy 21 and the remaining 49 average 0.93x. Buy 22, the very next purchase, returned 0.058x, the only one under a tenth of its price. For a player who wants the sticky-wild board without the 350-spin wait, the buy did its job here; for one counting on the average, the median is the number to read.

Measured upsides
  • Sticky Wilds rounds held a 48.6x median across 28 natural triggers, only one under 5x
  • Fifty buys returned 1.227x with 18 of them at or above their price
  • Six base-game single spins above 100x, the largest 540x
  • One purchase reached 16x, worth 1,601 bets on a 100x price
Measured downsides
  • Logged 95.41% sits a point under the declared 96.55% and 77% of spins returned nothing
  • A 1,166-spin gap between bonuses and an 810-bet drawdown by spin 3189
  • Raining Wilds was never played, so half of the feature is unmeasured
What the AI noticed during the run
  • Ten of 28 natural triggers inside 1,502 spins (rounds 3190 to 4692), including the two largest at 278x and 501.8x; before that, 1,166 spins without one.
  • A single evaluation on round 7407 paid 540x, no cascade, no feature: a base-game spin worth more than any bought round except one.
  • Buy 21 opened with four scatters, ran twelve spins and returned 16.0x; buy 22 opened with three and returned 0.058x.
  • Rounds 4673 and 4692 triggered nineteen spins apart and paid 42.1x and 52.8x, the closest pair of the run.

FAQ

4 questions · answered from the log
Sticky Wilds or Raining Wilds: which did the lab choose and why?
Lab answer

Sticky Wilds, every time, so that the 28 natural rounds and the 50 purchases describe one mode and can be compared. Seven spins with wilds that stay put and carry 1x to 3x is the shorter, spikier option; Raining Wilds trades that for 15 spins with up to six new wilds per spin and no stickiness. The rig sends the choice to the server the same way the game client does, so the result is a real round in that mode, not a simulation.

How did a base spin pay 540x with no cascade?
Lab answer

The Dog House Megaways has no tumble; each spin is evaluated once. Round 7407 lined up a full-width combination across a tall reel set, and wild multipliers on reels two to five multiply each other, so two 3x wilds in the same way already give 9x. The log records the payout, 1,080 on a 2.00 stake, not the exact reel picture.

Do the bonuses always arrive in bunches like this?
Lab answer

They do not have to; it is what this sample did. Ten triggers landed between rounds 3190 and 4692, the pair on 4673 and 4692 only nineteen spins apart, while the stretch from round 2024 to 3190 had none. Over the whole run it averaged one trigger per 357 spins, and the next ten thousand spins would draw their own pattern from the same reel strips.

Is the buy a better deal than in the original The Dog House?
Lab answer

This build sells the feature at 100x and lets you pick the mode; the original has no buy button at all, so its bonuses only come naturally. Here fifty purchases returned 1.227x on average and 0.70x at the median, 32 of them below cost. One round, buy 21, paid 16x and accounts for the gap between the two figures.
