How it plays
7 rules screens from the game
Six reels, five rows, no paylines: eight or more of one symbol anywhere on the screen is a win, with the pay stepping up at 10 and again at 12 symbols. The sun medallion is the top pay and the yellow gem the bottom. A win removes its symbols, the rest drop, new ones fall in, and the sequence repeats until a drop produces no eight-of-a-kind. There is no limit on tumbles.
The winged hearts and the blue star badge are the multiplier symbols. Each one that lands takes a value between 2x and 1000x from a fixed list (2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 8, 10, 12, 15, 20, 25, 50, 100, 250, 500 or 1000); the original Starlight Princess stopped at 500x. Once the tumbling ends, the values of every multiplier symbol left on screen are summed, and that one figure multiplies the whole sequence. That arithmetic is what produced round 5881 of the first run: four small tumbles worth 10.10 in total, then a final multiplication to 5,050, or 2,525x the bet.
A round of 15 free spins begins when four scatters or more land. Inside the feature, each multiplier that lands on a winning spin joins a running total displayed on the left panel, and from then on every winning spin is multiplied by that total. Three scatters during the round add another five spins. The first run's 23 natural rounds accumulated totals from nothing at all (round 8442, where no multiplier met a paying spin) to 40x (round 691); three of them, on rounds 611, 1817 and 2948, retriggered once for 20 spins.
The purchase costs 100x the bet and guarantees exactly four scatters on the triggering spin. The ante bet adds 25% to the price of a spin and changes the reel strips so that scatters appear twice as often; while it is on, the purchase button is greyed out, so the two cannot be combined. The maximum win is 15,000x the bet, three times the cap of the original. Declared figures: 96.5% in regular and ante mode, 96.49% when buying; the lab measured the regular mode and the purchase.

What changed was the top end: run one had the 2,525x spin on round 5881, run two nine base rounds over 100x and features averaging 126.25x, and run three had neither, its best base round 359.7x on round 8805 and its 25 features at 71.69x on average with a 31.65x median. Across 30,000 spins the ordinary reels still produced 22 rounds over 100x, five of them past 300x, against 19 free-spin features over 100x; the feature came 66 times, one per 455 spins or 2.2 bHz, a bHz being one natural trigger in a thousand ordinary spins, and paid 91.02x on average over the whole round, 41.22x at the median, 19.0% of the return, and retriggered three times, all in run one.

The buy is the tamest part of the game. Fifty purchases at 200 returned 8,267, or 0.827x; 36 finished below their price, 23 below half of it, only four below a tenth. The top three were 4.16x (buy 50), 3.21x (buy 41) and 3.18x (buy 38); the floor was 0.057x on buy 10. The running multiplier reached 49x on buy 41 and 29x on buy 1, yet the payouts from those two were 3.21x and 0.77x, because a big total on a losing spin pays nothing. What the 100x buy sells is a fifteen-spin round with a median of 0.6065x, not a shot at the 15,000x cap.

The recovery ran through the base game.
